Students Vote for Favorite Author of the Month!

This year we've had the opportunity to read and learn about 8 Authors of the Month: Kevin Henkes; Yuyi Morales; Steve Jenkins; Jan Brett; Jennifer L. Holm; Carole Boston Weatherford; Lois Ehlert; and Shel Silverstein. We even had the chance to meet one of the authors in person (Carole Boston Weatherford) during Black History Month!

Over 300 students voted for their favorite author and the results are in. K/1 kids took the survey on paper while kids in grades 2-5 used Google Forms. Jennifer L. Holm took first place with a total of 89 votes. Both boys and girls liked her equally as 45 boys and 44 girls chose her as their favorite. Shel Silverstein came in 2nd with Kevin Henkes in 3rd place.
